Gua Sha Facial Benefits

Gua Sha Facial Benefits Face

For centuries women have tried many different kinds of procedures and techniques to preserve their youth and keep their skin looking beautiful. Today there are a large number of different procedures and types of face massages aimed at rejuvenating and improving your skin. The Gua Sha facial massage is one of those methods.

What is Gua Sha?

Gua Sha is a popular Chinese technique that has been passed down throughout the generations and is still a relevant and effective method to preserve beauty and promote healthy skin.

“Gua Sha” comes from the Chinese characters "Gua", meaning  "scraping motion" and "sha", meaning "disease, or sickness." The Gua Sha massage works by doing just that. It can use rollers, crystasl or stone scrapers to encourage lymphatic drainage. The soft scraping of the stone will break up fascia, the connective tissue that hugs muscles but can sometimes interfere with circulation. Metabolic processes are activated and wrinkles are smoothed, causing a natural “face lift” to tone your skin.

The massage will also accelerate and promote the drainage of lymph, a colorless fluid containing white blood cells. It’s in lymph where harmful toxins are stored; toxins that we need to expel from our bodies.

Gua Sha Benefits

The purpose of a Gua Sha facial massage is to help our bodies naturally remove these unnecessary and harmful toxins such as viruses and dead cells. The result is healthy, beautiful, and younger looking skin.

As you might know, our bodies are made up of a huge amount of water. Much of this water is contained both in the cells themselves and the space between the cells. It’s in that intercellular space that fluid can accumulate and contribute to diseases and sicknesses. Lymphatic drainage can effectively remove that excess fluid and has an extremely positive effect on our health and appearance.

Ancient Chinese medicine also claims that some diseases develop due to the influence of external natural factors such as extreme heat, wind, cold and dampness that penetrate the skin. Therefore, the fight against these external factors is accomplished through the stimulation of the skin. A Gua Sha massage does an excellent job doing just that!

Gua Sha Facials will:

  • Improve skin condition. With increased tissue regeneration and circulation, problems associated with pigmentation, acne and inflammation are improved.
  • Reduce head colds and sore throats. This occurs due to a reduction in the swelling of the mucous membranes which improves respiration and reduces cough.
  • Help reduce anxiety. Gua Sha massages help to reduce anxiety and insomnia. Improved appetite and increased sexual energy are also noted.
  • Reduce wrinkles and naturally tone the skin. The improvement of circulation and the removal of lymph leads to improved muscle tone, rejuvenating the face.

Gua Sha Massage Tools

In ancient Chinese medicine, Gua Sha scrapers were made from horn, bone, silver and natural stone. Each of these materials have its own characteristics and effect on the body.

At Annazur, we use battery-powered devices made from many of these same materials.

By researching the modern international experience of Gua Sha and collaborating with experts in the field, we have modernized the facial massage technique. For example, natural stone has a huge number of properties. It retains heat and cold for a longer period of time and has the correct weight to properly stimulate deeper muscles. The result is a longer lasting toning effect on the face.

How Often Should You get Gua Sha facial?

We recommend getting a Gua Sha Facial in a series of 7 sessions, once or twice a month.

Gua Sha Facials should not be done if you have open wounds, infectious skin diseases, sensitive allergic reactions, thrombocytopenia, high blood pressure or if pregnant.

If you have had any injections in your face, it's best to wait at least 3 months.

Why wait? Get more information about Gua Sha facials today!

Jaylene was absolutely amazing! She was able to see me the same day and remove my old lashes and do a full set. She made them appear cat eye and they are just gorgeous! This spa also sells some amazing jewelry and skin care products. I’ve tried a few already and am in love. This is my new permanent salon for any brow, lash, or facial needs.

If you have not yet experienced waxing or sugaring services, I highly recommend trying it. To put it short, YOU ARE MISSING OUT!! I recently received my services from Loralei, who I found to be professional, welcoming, and straightforward. I was impressed by her patience, she took the time to thoroughly explain each step of the process, ensuring there were no surprises or misunderstandings. Although many of the services I received were first time, this will not be my last.…
